Your optimum refresh rate should be between 75 and 85 HZ, higher then that and you may experience blanking (unsupported modes) as well as ghosting or video trailing.

My M992 died, today.... I was chatting on IRC, this morning, and suddenly, the monitor zoomed on a part of the screen. after a few seconds, it made a noise, then went blank... the led is off, and no picture will display.... What happens, now?

Check the plug, and your mains fuse panel for that outlet, or plug it in somewhere else. Only half kidding.
