Making 2005FPW Display 1680x1050

I'm running the freshly installed Dell 2005FPW (digital) driver on my S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR card and my monitor is displaying the picture full screen, but it's just stretched. The only resolution settings it gives me are 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and it'll only come up on the monitor if I have it on 16bit. Is it possible for me to get the wide screen view without buying a new card? And if so, how? I'm not a gamer, I'm just a student who does his art and watches his movies on his computer. I don't have a ton of cash (which coincidentally is why I bought this monitor). Help me please.
