Maxed Out Contrast on DVI mode

I recently purchased a 1907FP monitor.
It says in the User's manual that adjusting contrast level is not possible
when the monitor is on DVI mode. Whenever I use DVI mode,
the contrast is maxed out (100).
Adobe Photoshop 9.0 seems to have detected the display error and
keeps popping out an error message window as soon as I start running it.

Help please?

Thanks in advance.

quintis,

If you want to adjust the Contrast, disconnect the DVI and use the VGA.

Disconnect DVI?
That means I have to use analog mode instead?

quintis,

DVI automatically adjust Contrast. If you want to manually adjust it you must use VGA.

Hi Chris,

VGA = analog mode?

My graphics card is nVidia 7600GT.
This card has only 2 DVI outputs.
If I wanted to run it on analog mode, I have to
attach the analog adaptor to the DVI cable.

Is the auto-adjust in DVI the same as the auto-adjust in the analog mode?

quintis,

I have not tried a DVI to VGA adapter to see if the contrast option will appear.
