Maximum resolution on Dell U3011 connected to Microsoft Surface running Windows 10
The maximum resolution I get on Microsoft surface is 1600 x 900 when using DVI with the convertor to mini display port. When I use display port, I do not get any image at all. I suspected this might be drivers problem. However I do not see any drivers for anything above windows 7. I have another computer with windows 8, and when connected to that one, U3011 goes up till 2560 x 1600 as it is supposed to. But connection with brand new Microsoft surface is horrible. Is it true that windows 10 is not supported? Is there any way at all to get resolution of 2560 via Microsoft surface?

This 5 year old monitor only has support for Windows XP/Vista/7 which may be why the Surface mDP out to U3011 DP are not working. I have never heard of any users testing a mDP to DVI setup off of the Surface. I have seen this one =
Surface mDP out --> mDP to VGA adapter --> VGA to VGA cable --> Monitor VGA in
But I have no idea what will happen because they were all using newer monitors designed for Windows 10. You should post the issues on the Surface Forum and see if other Surface users can relate their Dell monitor experience and if they can offer some insight or troubleshooting steps.
