Monitor Cable

Question

I have a 8400 processor and a Dell 1801FP monitor. I have 2 different cables ( blue and white ) that can be connected form the monitor to the processor. The instructions state 'connect either the blue video cable or white DVI cable to the computer. Do not not use both cables on the same computer.'   I plugged in the white cable.  The monitor keeps displaying 'analog self test'. I use the blue cable and the monitor works ok. Any thoughts Thanks

I have  2001FP, which should be similar to your monitor, and if you are using the DVI (white connector) cable connection change your display setting to option (2) DVI-D.  Option (1) is usually the analog connection.  That should work.
