Monitor Cables
I have a Dell monitor, without any cables.
What cables would I need to connect this monitor to a laptop, perhaps as a dual-screen?

Either =
Laptop VGA out port --> VGA to VGA cable --> Monitor VGA in portLaptop DVI out port --> DVI to DVI cable --> Monitor DVI in port

I think my laptop only has an HDMI port.
In addition to any power cable, would then just a HDMI cable at both ends (1 HDMI connected to the monitor and the other to the laptop) work?

A total of three cables. HDMI cable, power cable, USB 2.0 upstream cable to access the USB downstream ports.
Laptop HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> Monitor HDMI in port
