Hi timbo2410,

Welcome to the Dell Community.

The USB upstream cable, which is needed to activate the USB ports on the monitor, is supplied along with the monitor. It should be in the packaging.

You can also check the link below form more details on the package contents and also on how to use the ports.

Hi and thanks for your help. I've looked at the a-b cable and there is no connection on the monitor with that type of plug. There are two of the standard usb ports but not the "printer" type ports. I thought it would be a usb to usb type cable that was needed?

Hi timbo2410,

Thank you for your response.

Please open the link below and scroll down to the Back View under Identifying Parts and Features. The port labeled 11 is the USB ‘B’ type port. One end of that cable should connect to it and the other should connect to the regular USB port on the system tower.

Hi again, yes the port is there, so I have been using the wrong port :-(

I thought that the card reader would be using the usb ports on the side. Thanks for sorting this out for me. Have a great day

Tim
