Monitor won't recognize USB

I have a Dell Monitor, 1703FP, and it won't recognize any USB devices that I plug into it.

I have a usb cord from the monitor to the back of the tower. I have installed the latest monitor driver. All the USB devices work if plugged into the back of the tower, so I know those are functioning. I have rebooted the computer, turn the monitor on and off....

I don't understand what the problem would be. Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to be able to plug in my jump-drive without having to dig at the back of my computer...help please!?!?

thanks :smileyhappy:

Hi, the first thing would be to swap the usb cable with a known good one (you may already have). After that it may be the monitor itself. Can you hook the monitor to another PC to try it?

bonni-lyn,

You are using the monitor USB uplink cable that came in the monitor box?
