Monitor.

I have a XPS/Dimension XPS GEN3 system, the monitor stop working, thought the monitor was bad and tried another monitor but it doesn't work either. The monitor that I tried was working when hooked up to another system.  Is there anthing in the computer it self that could be bad?

Any help would be welcomed.

gtoden1,

* Turn the PC off
* Unplug the power cord from the back of the PC
* Disconnect the monitor from the video card
* Remove the case cover
* Remove and reseat the video card in the motherboard slot
* Close the case cover
* Reconnect the monitor to the video card
* Reconnect the PC power cord
* Power on the monitor and then the PC. Any difference in the issue? If not, is there another video card you can test?

There could be a number of problems in the machine, I've got a few ideas on what it could be... Motherboard failure, ram failure (you could hear the system speaker beep if that was the issue) Corrupt BIOS, power supply failure, graphics adapter failure/problems, bad capacitors. That's it for what I've got.

If this is no help, then I'm sorry.
