Order 2407 now - will get A02 or A03?

If I order a 2407 now from Dell Canada will I be getting an A03 or is there a chance I will get an A02? I tried calling a dell sales rep, but he had no idea what firmware updates were. Is it possible to request an A03 when ordering online? I did not see any input boxes for special requests or notes.

Thanks

Well, I got a replacement 2407 2 weeks ago (my A02 died on me :( ) and the replacement was an A03. And let me tell you this, the A03 is amazing. No banding in any direction. They finally got that part right!

So I think you would get a A03.

Canada, Call and specify 2407 must be an A03 as other versions are defective.

HK sorry don't know, Japan A03's are there. Call and specify A03 or nothing.

Thanks for all the replies.

I called in and tried to specify an A03 but the sales rep had no idea what I was talking about. He had to put me on hold and call some tech guy. When he came back, he said there was nothing significantly different between the A02 and A03, and that the A02 was not defective. He then went on saying something about Dell's policy that since both versions were non-defective it wouldn't matter which one I received and it was not possible to request a specific one.

If I do in fact receive an A02 and experience banding, will getting an A03 replacement be simple? What additional costs would I be looking at?

Thanks

RadxGe, ArchAnge1, KevinR100 and all the rest, what do you think of that.

A02, A03 no difference :)LOL No way.

The rep. lied to you, ask anyone here. I own 3 - 2407 A03's.

Do this,
Call until you get a rep. that actually knows what you are talking about and/or explain it to them, politely.
Say, "A02 is defective because it has banding in all 3 modes, it is not useable for your work, such as video or Photoshop, you must have an A03 which that version corrects banding in desktop"

A soft dither option was added in the service menu and it has a new firmware version in the A03's and corrects banding in desktop mode.
It's as simple as that and undisputed here.

The reps have a full understanding of banding when I'm done talking to them:) I talk like I write:) They laugh a lot too:)

You'd have to get an exchange and all that hassle, might stick you with a refurb and you'd have to do it again or they'll just say no, I just did 4 as of now and wasted many many hours, but it had to be done.

Always be nice and state your point politely. A03 for work and don't accept anyting else.

We just stepped back into the stoneage:)

Hope that helps:)
