P2421DC, MacBook M1 flickering grid

Dell P2421DC

Dell P2421DC

HI All,

This is a continuation of this topic mentioned below where Chris from Dell provide the solution:

" none of the Dell D/E/G/P/S/SE/Alienware monitors have macOS support from Dell" .

I cannot find any official DELL statement about this. The topic/thread mentioned by Chris has been deleted as well. That is strange, because DELL on the product page does not mention about incompatibility with Apple notebooks - so that is not fair.

In addition I have been using P2219HC for long time without issues but once switched to QHD version of "the same monitor" the background/grid flickering appeared.

I know many people also who are using P series monitors without any issues with M1 MacBook. So I believe that could be some resolution / firmware upgrade which can fix this annoying issue.

Dell could you help please? Could you even compere P2219HC vs P2421DC in case of color profiles etc. please ?

Thanks for your opinion, but it is not going to change our policy or our sales page. Just like the unsupported macOS, any issues encountered in Linux OS would not be troubleshot by Dell. All they could do is perform basic monitor hardware troubleshooting like the stand alone BID (Built-in Diagnostics).

The topic thread you were referring to in that other thread was fixed. You may find it by =
* Go to the top of the Monitors board
* Open the Pinned post, "FAQ Dell monitor and Apple"

Go to the online P2421DC drivers page. Click the down arrow under "Operating system" to see the validated operating systems. macOS is not listed.

The only testing done on the P2219HC and P2421DC are in validated Windows OS.

You should post the issues on the Apple Forum to see if other Apple users can assist.

HI Chris!
Thank you for reply - finally I was able to reach the post "FAQ Dell monitor and Apple" -thanks

But that was not my point because I do not think that customers ale following Community or Support page when decided to buy a new monitor - especially that non of dedicated driver  or software are needed to use the monitor.

In other hand - how many Linux users are using P series monitors ? The Linux is not listed in support page as well but monitor works fine - so i cannot agree again.

If product is not compatible with specific system I expect to have that clear information on product page - not community or support.

That is fair way to play with customers.

Thank you!
