P2424HEB, Windows 11, camera stopped working?

Hi

I can't see the inbult camera in the drop down list?

I'm sure I've had it working before on this computer.

Tried a reset via monitor menu. Hasn't helped.

Sound seams to work on it.

Works on a Win10 computer.

What driver do I need to reinstall>

Dell Perf manager can't see it.

I unplugged the USB C from the laptop. Reconnected, and that seams to have sorted it? I had already tried some reboots, with no improvement

Still having issues.

It works on the first laptop boot, and uses the monitor cam to login with face.

Then I let it goto sleep.

When I wake it, I have to use PIN to get in, and then I get a message, last USB device connected had issues (or something like that). And the monitor camera isn't avaiable.

The monitor ethernet port also doesn't work.

A USB-C unplug and reconnect from laptop fixes both issues

What specific Laptop models? Was the working unknown Laptop using Windows 10 also connecting via USB-C?

Dell laptop 5420 i5  Win 11 I haven't really seen the issue with a Win 10 Desktop (via USB-B), but I guess that doesn't really go into standby

Sorry I missed your message.  Latitude. On first boot up the camera wasn't working.  I have upgraded the monitor firmware from M2T 101   to M2T 103 I will see how things go....

Test camera with this setup =

AC power connected to Latitude 5420 left side 1st Thunderbolt 4 port

Latitude 5420 left side 2nd Thunderbolt 4 port --> P2424HEB USB-C to USB-C cable --> P2424HEB #5 USB-C/DP port

Latitude 5420 right side USB-A port --> P2424HEB USB-A to USB-B cable --> P2424HEB #7 USB-B upstream port

Hi, i have this issue too, i just uninstalled the windows updates KB5049622 and KB5050009 (got the idea from DMarkwell74 to look at the Microsoft updates from another thread). Restarted the computer and the camera worked and the update utility worked as well. It could of been one of the updates but I was at my wits end and uninstalled both as i didn't want to restart the computer if i chose the wrong update to uninstall first. DMarkwell74 did suggest another Microsoft update however but that updated was not on my computer and i cant remember what update he said but he was talking about another monitor.

I have a Dell Monitor P2424HEB. After a Microsoft update on Win 10, on the 30.01.2025 the web camera stopped working. The computer doesn't detect the camera. The microphone works perfectly.

I tried to install updates for Dell Monitors, but I couldn't find a useful update for this problem.

How can I solve the problem?

The USB for camera and microphone now work only in a USB 2 port.  If I put the USB for the Web camera and microphone in a USB 3 port, the computer doesn't detect the camera.

We don't know what you have tried to fix the problem? so can't really help.  Are you connecting the monitor USB to a desktop USB-A port?

It works only on USB 2 port. After a Windows update the web camera doesn't work on USB 3 port any more.

I wasn't able to install any useful update for the Dell Monitor.

The monitor shows a message, that the update wasn't installed properly.

Which update should I install for the web camera?
