P2715Q, Display Blanking & Display-port link failure error

-        S/N: CN-032R1F-74445-4CC-AFUL

-        Rev: A01

-        Manufacture Date: Dec 2014

-        PC Custom: Asus X99 Pro mb, Corsair Vengeance PC4 2800, Windwos 7 Pro 64bit

-        Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 4GB (RMA’d card & Updated BIOS afterwards)

-        Catalyst 15.7 Driver Ver: 15.20.1046-150622a-186188C

-        Graphics Card Ports: 1 Display-port, 1 HDMI, 2 DVI

-        Using Display-port to Display-port on the monitor when the issue occurs

-        I’ve tried high performance, and balanced power profiles

-        3840x2160 @60Hz with a display port icon

-        Monitor was purchased from Amazon.com

Issues Experienced (Multiple):

  1. Displayport Link failure error message when waking from sleep mode.
  2. Screen blanks out intermittently for about 1-2 seconds, sometimes blanks out 2-3 times in a minute, sometimes only 1 times in 15 min.. This only occurs in 3840x2160 @ 60Hz MST off, lowering settings to MST-on at 30Hz it doesn’t occur, but it obviously lowers the bitrate considerably and is painful to view video.
  3. Horizontal screen “tearing or distortion” lines, when it occurs they are almost always 2 lines, and always about 1/3 & 2/3’s from the top of the screen. If I’m scrolling on a web page I can see these 2 lines simultaneously

Remedies attempted:

-        I've replaced my Goldmatters 4K displayport cable, and even purchased a new VESA approved Accel DP to DP cable also the issue did not change with any new cables.

-        I've had the Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 4GB GDDR5 card replaced, then with the replacement card I updated the BIOS to the latest per Sapphire tech support, with the same result.

-        Turn the monitor off
* Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
* Press the monitor power button in for 15 seconds
* Reconnect the monitor cables and re-test
* Read this

Additional Notes: The issue does not occur when using display port to mini display port cable, but I still see the distortion lines. If the monitor blinks out while I’m in the OSD the menu will disappear, and will not reappear after it comes back.

Appreciate any help at this point.

Read through this. If fix is not found, get it exchanged. They should replace it with revision A03, part number X24K1.

I had the same issue with my two P2715Q monitors and I solve-it by setting to Off the PCI Express - Link State Power Management in Power Options. I have Windows 10.

My computer can go into sleep mode and wake up without any problem now.
