P2723QE, flickering, macOS, #2
Hi,
Since yesterday evening I am experiencing exactly the same issue. After some hours of use my less than 2 weeks old P2723QE starts flickering. I tried the following:
- check the USB-C cable
- check the power cord
- switch the monitor off/on
- restart the PC
- switch between MacBook and XPS 15
- reset the monitor to factory setting
Nothing helped. Then I unplugged it from power for half an hour. After that it was ok again. Today I had the same flickering again after about 2 hours of use. I am using my P2723QE with standard setting (75% Brightness, 75% Contrast), so overheating should not be the problem. As I use the monitor for home office work, it is useless with this flaw. After some time of use I also experience cyan tint in some areas of the lower half of the monitor. Maybe there is a problem with the panel anyway.

Hello, we see you are looking for assistance. Click our DELL-Cares username, on the right click, "Send this user a private message". Provide to us the private XPS Service Tag and the P2723QE Service Tag.
Disconnect the non-supported macOS PC from the P2723QE. Restart the XPS 15 and retest.
One macOS user posted this workaround =
* Enter the P2723QE Menu OSD
* Go to Display
* Change USB-C Prioritization to High Resolution
* Go to Others
* Change DDC/CI to Off

Hello SpaceGray,
Did DELL or you solve the flickering problem?

I did some further research on the flickering over the last weekend.
What I found out is that I can provoke the flickering under macOS on my MacBook Air M1 by opening a single exemplary web page in Safari, and that the flickering remains even after switching the monitor to my XPS 15 9510.
When opening the web page on my XPS 15 9510 however there is no problem, so no flickering occurs. This means, that the problem is triggered either by macOS or the architecture of the MacBook Air M1 SOC (who knows).
As Dell officially does not guarantee compatibility of the P-series with macOS, I guess there will not be any support for this from Dell. I didn't know that when deciding to get a P2723QE, so this of course is a bit annoying. Dell should give a bit more information about the compatibility of their products on the product pages of their web site in my opinion.
The second problem, the uneven cyan (or blueish) tint is related to the hardware. As it causes eyestrain when working with the P2723QE for a longer time. I need a solution for this. I thought, the P2723QE had a permanent blue light filter and now I have problems with blueish tint, that is resistant to calibration - that's curious.
So I will contact Dell support again for this. As I'm located in Germany, I guess this here is the wrong community (US?) to start a service case?

I have the same issue - replace two monitors already and a friend of mine as well - but the issue sporadically comes up again. Starts working, but then flickers after two weeks again. Kinda bad for a pricey monitor.
