Possible to switch monitors?

Hello all Well, I've had this 19 inch monitor since I purchased this computer about 16 months ago. And it's always gave me problems, I find it to big, I get headaches etc etc. Keeping the monitor far away doesn't help either. My only option is to go back to a 17 inch monitor. I was ok with that couple years ago. ok onto my inquiry. Would it be possible to exchange my current 19 inch for a 17 inch? If so, how would I go about doing that, would it cost money? Maybe I could get a 17 inch wide screen, would that be bigger than a normal 17 inch, I don't know how that would come out. Any feedback/help would be great, I'd love that very much.

Yes, you can easily change monitors, but you will have to purchase a 17 inch as Dell will not exchange after 16 months.  Widescreens cost $175 to 200 typically and are readily available everywhere. A widescreen is just that: wider than normal screens but depending on what you do with it you may enjoy the screen shape and you may not.  If you're used to reading pages from top to bottom (as in word processing) you will see less than usual.  I have one 17 inch widescreen and a lot of regular 17 to 20 inch screens and I have no particular preference. The widescreens appear to cost less right now.
