Quarter of certain program window is cut off

Question

I am a quadriplegic and use voice recognition software to do all of my typing and a large portion of my navigation. Anyway, I recently had to reinstall Dragon Naturally Speaking version 9 preferred and when I started to create a new user the Audio setup wizard window opened and about one quarter of the window seemed to be cut off so that I could not read any of the text on that side of the window, and there isn't a scroll bar to move the viewer over. I've tried resizing the display at 1024x768 and even tried it as low as 800x600 and still about 1/4 of the content in the Audio setup wizard window seemed to be cut off. The next two windows were the same except that the one to adjust the microphone and do the volume check was missing the part of the screen with the volume meter so I wasn't able to go any further. I completely removed DNS 9 from my hard drive and did a clean install but the problem persists, please help! Ok, I uninstalled the graphics drivers and then reinstalled them but it did not solve my problem. I'm starting to get really, really frustrated, this program is essential for me to be able to be completely independent on my computer not to mention the amount of money I paid for this program for it not to be working. please help me

Sometimes when you change the default fontsize in the windows setting and/or appearance menus this can happen.  If you are using large fonts, return them to their normal size and see if the problem goes away.   Good luck.   savjam

What monitor and what resolution were you using?

20 in (20.0 in viewable) 2005FPW Wide Aspect Digital Flat Panel Display resolution 1024x768   I usually set it at 1152x864 color quality   High (32 bit) refresh rate    60 Hz DPI setting:  normal size 96 dpi   I inculded everything just in case. thanks

You are trying to run 4:3 resolutions on a 16:10 display. You should use the monitor's native resolution of 1680x1050@60Hz for best results.

at that resolution, everything becomes so small its difficult to read.

You could try setting a smaller custom resolution but it should be 16:10 aspect ratio.

I have a 2007WFP monitor.  To make the font size bigger, I increased the size in two different places. For the first, right click on the desktop, select properties, settings, advanced  and change the font size from Normal (96DPI) to Large (120 DPI).  For the second, click on the appearance tab, and in the font size section change the size to large or extra large.   This worked for me.  Hope this helps.   savjam

Oh, by the way, don't change the native resolution 1680x1050 as this will degrade the picture quality.

I wanted to thank you guys for your suggestions and let you know that the problem has been solved. I don't know why I didn't think to do it in the very beginning, but it turned out that the font size for one items in the display properties area had to be reduced from eight to six. The funny thing is that I am pretty share eight is the default size and I know for certain that I had never changed it, but my problem is six now and that is all that really matters.
