S2421HN, vertical scan lines

Just bought a second S2421HN monitor and it's showing vertical scan lines on some colors (mostly shades of blue) and gradients. I have another S2421HN from 2020 with older firmware and that display is perfect.

I've tried swapping HDMI cables and connect to different ports but the problem persists.

Not sure if this is a firmware issue or a hardware one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's a bad unit, I gotta return it ASAP and hope I can get another one that works perfectly.

Update = After completing troubleshooting, a DELL-Cares agent setup a part exchange.

Dell does not offer macOS drivers for this monitor. There are no firmware updates on the driver page. Disconnect the video cable from the S2421HN. This removes the macOS PC from the troubleshooting.

Run the stand alone Built-in diagnostics, page 51 in the online S2421HN User's Guide. If the Built-in diagnostics full colored screens do not show the scan lines, the S2421HN is functioning correctly.

Ive ran both diagnostic tests and they were both fine and didn't see any scan lines. I also discovered that lowering the refresh rate to 50hz also makes the lines disappear however at the default 75hz they are quite visible.

The 2021 monitor is dated at Sept 2021 (on the back label), while the 2020 unit is dated at Nov 2020. I'm assuming both S2421HN displays have the same hardware - the only other difference is that the 2021 unit is using the M3T103 firmware while the 2020 one is on M3T102.

I'm currently talking to Dell support to trouble shoot, but need to find a windows machine to connect it to in order to further investigate.
