S2422HZ, cable for Webcam to work

Hi

I've just purchased a Dell S2422HZ monitor but do not have a USB-C port on my Windows 10 PC.

Can I use a 'USB Type-A to Type-C cable' to link the S2422HZ to my PC via a USB-A port, in order to allow the Webcam and microphone to work?

Thanks Steve

Correct!

If connecting to the S2422HZ via its HDMI or DP video in ports, you have to purchase a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable. Once this cable is connected (PC USB Type-A --> USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable --> S2422HZ USB Type-C port), the PC will now see the S2422HZ Webcam and USB downstream ports.

Hi

Bought this adapter. Using the supplied USB-C cable, that came with the monitor, and the adapter I am now able to use the camera, so all good now.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Chris

Thanks for your reply.

Is Video transmission required in the cable and does the cable you've suggested support Video transmission?

Another issue is the length as it's a bit short for my needs - is there a suitable cable about 1.5m?

Thanks again for your help.

The cable suggested does not support video transmission but do support charging and powering USB Type-C enabled devices, as well as syncing data, photos, and music.

For a longer cable, I would suggest you please check for it on online stores.
