S2522HG, DDM stopped working

Hi,

I bought the S2522HG a month ago. Everything was working great out of the box. Installed drivers, then DDM (Dell Display Manager), no problems.

After 2 weeks, I connected the S2522HG USB hub to my PC, and then DDM stopped working. The taskbar icon shows a yellow triangle, and the message says, please connect a supported Dell monitor.

I'm not sure if connecting the USB hub broke the software. It probably coincided with updating GPU drivers or something else. Problem is I have tried everything, switching cables, reinstalling USB drivers, Dell monitor drivers, DDM, nothing seems to work.

DDC/CI is set to ON in the S2522HG OSD menu.

Firmware version is : M3B101
Service Tag :

Switching monitor profiles via the S2522HG buttons is very inconvenient compared to DDM. I need this to work. Please help!

batoor,

Could you please try them and let us know the results?

Can we use any different cable - HDMI? If yes, try and check if the same error is displayed, if no other cables then do the following,

Turn Off the computer

Turn off the Monitor

Connect the DP cable from the Computer to the Monitor

Connect the Upstream cable from the Monitor to the Computer

Turn on the Monitor (first) - open the OSD menu and then Disabled DP 1.2 (don't worry it will not disable the DP port)

Now turn on the computer. - this should work

If not then download the Video drivers and check (to eliminate any Windows Update issue)

The upstream cables are usually used between the monitor and system tower.

You can refer to this link for details about Upstream cable. https://dell.to/3JOBbBW

On pages number 11 and 12 you will find the Upstream port details.
