S2716DG, horizontal lines, during BID

Hello,

I am having an issue with my S2716DG that I have not experienced before today. There are many small horizontal lines across my screen. I used the monitor's internal BID (built-in diagnostic) test and can see the issue there. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Attached is an image from the BID test showing the horizontal lines.MSGR_PHOTO_FOR_UPLOAD_1535239507764.jpg_1535239514089.jpeg

Update, after leaving it unplugged overnight the issue seemed to have fixed itself, is there some sort of heat issue potentially? I'd rather not have a defective monitor if this is a defect of some sort20180826_161748.jpg

After letting the monitor run for about 40 minutes, the lines have returned. It was a very sudden shift

I've been doing some more experimenting, I do think it's a heat issue. I cranked the brightness down from the default (75%) to around 30%, used the monitor for about 2 hours and had no issues. I'll read the warranty post, thanks!

I have not heard of any heat related issues. Since the lines show on the stand alone Built-in diagnostics (page 40), see this.

I ended up sending in the monitor under warranty. Try to get a picture of it in the self diagnosis tool

Did you ever figure out the problem? I have the exact same issue with the same monitor. Very hard to show the issue the way they want you to take the picture for warranty exchange... pretty frustrating to be honest.

I had a really hard time getting my camera to pick up the lines. I eventually think I did. It was extremely hard to understand the warranty rep, as well as the supervisor. But I think they said they would be sending out a replacement for exchange within 3 business days. I figure I give it some time and call back if nothing shows up. Our phone call was over an hour and it took me a good 15 minutes to understand I was to push the first and fourth button to bring up the BID. The language barrier was very difficult for me.
