S2719DGF, DDM, automatic brightness preset?
I can see the DDM (Dell Display Manager) has the ability to automatically change the monitor preset for games, etc. But, is there a way to have it automatically change the brightness setting only?
There doesn't seem to be a way to do this on the physical monitor settings either (like a shortcut key to swap between two brightness settings). The S2719DGF doesn't seem to save brightness settings between modes. I have the S2719DGF which is a great monitor, but it is annoying having to manually boost the brightness setting every time when loading a game.
I do like the ability to use DDM to change the brightness (better than pressing a bunch of buttons on the S2719DGF), although it's a pity the S2719DGF doesn't seem to be compatible with the built-in Windows 10 brightness setting. Below screenshot shows the Windows 10 setting I'm talking about:
The fact that the brightness can be changed within DDM means it may be theoretically possible to save brightness settings in DDM and apply such a setting if it detects a game being loaded.
Also, can the developers look into updating DDM so that it is compatible with high-DPI scaling? Currently the app either looks really small on very high resolutions, or the text in the app looks soft when Windows 10 display scaling is used (i.e. 125%).

There is no automatic brightness preset, and the brightness control in your screen shot is a system interface to a laptop internal panel; it does not apply to external monitors.
What you can do is attach a specific brightness level (e.g. 90%) to a specific preset (e.g. "Game"). Switch from auto-mode to manual mode and select the Game preset, then adjust brightness and/or contrast to the levels you prefer. Now right-click on the Game preset in the drop down preset list, and select "Attach current brightness/contrast values to the current preset". Switch back to auto-mode, and add your games to the Auto-mode application list selecting Game as the preset mode.

The Windows 10 brightness control is available on all-in-one PCs as well. Not sure why Microsoft can't make it available on regular PCs. You can get small 3rd party apps that can add a brightness slider too (such as Win10_BrightnessSlider).
What!? That is so unintuitive! I have never seen another app where you right-click a drop-down box for more options. That is not standard Windows UI behavior. Thank you for the heads up, I will give it a go. The software developers really need to update the Dell Display Manager.
