S2721DGF, screen protector/film?

Hi,

I got a quick question: it seems that my S2721DG came with a screen protector, a film (like those opaque ones we used to use in smartphones) but I'm not sure if that's really a protector and can be removed or if it's the 3H screen coating mentioned in the manual?

I got in contact with the support guys from Brazil, since I'm from there, and they said it's a protector cover that CAN be removed but I also read at somewhere else that it's the coating and SHOULD NOT be removed.

Who should I trust? Does anyone know?

So, anything that has an expired warranty, Dell does not even offer some kind of official store or authorized tech to repair their products?
* 1/2 incorrect. Dell DOES offer out of warranty repair on computers. Dell does NOT offer any repair on monitors.

I have a product that did not even complete 4 years and is already broken and I'm not seeing any other way but discarding it and replacing with a new one.
* That is correct.

They are incorrect. The S2721DGF does not ship with a removable screen protector. If a user tries to peel the the front polarizer (3H) hard coating off of the panel, they voided the warranty.

I don't know what's the process for training the staff from Dell Brazil but what I know is that their support is pretty messed up.

Each time I get in touch with them, I receive one answer.
Now, they are saying my LCD is broken, it's taking off the frame, and they want to send someone to repair the screen I got 1 day ago... either that or call it back and exchange it for a new one.

I'm almost done with Dell screens... First because my S2716DG started getting some stains like less-satured clouds at almost half of the screen and Dell refuses to give some kind of assistance (not even send it to an official repair center, I'm willing to pay for it). They are all about: nothing we can, you will need to replace it by yourself.

Now this whole confused story of the S2721DGF and if it happens the same in the future where I have any kind of issue with this screen, I know I will not have their backup.

So I'm really thinking on cancelling this purchase and getting my money back.

Some clarification on the older S2716DG. Dell has never offered a "repair" service for monitors so they are incorrect there. All we do is exchange them while still under the purchased warranty period.

For the new S2721DGF and returning, I can only speak to USA policy. Here you have up to 30 days from the Dell invoice date to return the S2721DGF. After that 30 day period, the warranty would only be for exchanges.

If that's really the case, I will for sure return the S2721DGF I just bought because I don't want to have the unlucky of facing the same issue in the future and have no other options to fix it.

Got it.

Thank you so much for all the details and clarification, Chris!
