S2721DGFA, stuck on language selection

Question

Hey,

recently got a S2721DGFA, however when trying to connect, it only shows the monitor menu defaulted to language, however I can't navigate the menu with the joystick. All of the other buttons don't work aswell. Tried powercycling it, did not help. I tried it both on my laptop and PC, one with DP one with HDMI, both don't work. The laptop does show up in the list and when making changes like the refresh rate or resolution, it quickly goes to black but then back to the language menu without any image in the background.

Any solution for this or do I have to send it back?

To receive assistance from Dell support agents, click the 'Get help now' icon on the right. Share with them the private monitor Service Tag, 20 digit serial number, and all of your troubleshooting. Try this = * Turn the PC and monitor off* Disconnect every cable (including the power cable) from the monitor* Press the monitor power button in for 8 seconds* Reconnect the power cable and one video cable to the monitor and PC* Turn the PC on, then the monitor

Hey,

thanks for the response. I tried that a couple of times before, sadly does not really change anything. When its back on power and I have it connected to my laptop, then it either goes to that language selection screen where the input buttons don't work or it only displays a black screen, sometimes flickering to that langauge selection.

I got the monitor the day I made the post so I will contact the support I guess.
