S2721QS, Mac Mini, HDMI, flickering
I purchased a Dell 4K Wide Frameless Monitor, 27" S2721QS in October 2020. It has started flickering quite badly and pages I have previously been on remain in a ghostlike, dim background type situation, even when I have closed all programs on my Mac Mini.
Any suggestions on how I might fix this?

* Go back to the top of this Dell Monitors Forum
* Read through the Pinned post, "FAQ Dell monitor and Apple"
- None of the Dell D/E/G/P/S/SE/Alienware monitors have macOS support from Dell
- The S2721QS drivers page only shows Windows OS
* Read through the S2721QS threads on the Apple Forum
Connect the S2721QS to a Dell validated Windows OS PC.
* Turn the PC and S2721QS off
* Disconnect all cables (including power) from the S2721QS
* Press and hold the S2721QS power button for 8 seconds
* Reconnect the power cable and HDMI cable to the S2721QS
* Turn the PC and S2721QS on
* Press the S2721QS Menu button
* Go to Others
* Run Factory Reset
* Exit the Menu and retest. If issue remains
* Turn the PC and S2721QS off
* Disconnect the HDMI cable from the S2721QS #1 HDMI in port and connect it to the #2 HDMI in port
* Power on and retest
* If issue remains test a different HDMI to HDMI cable

I had the same problem just now - it was caused by other wires touching my monitor's HDMI cable.

Exact same problem here. Visiting certain web pages using a certain shade of grey appears to cause it for me. The flickering and ghost images then remain even after closing the browser. Rebooting the PC or monitor doesn't help, and the problem follows the monitor if I move it to another PC. It can take several days to clear. It is 100% a monitor issue, not cabling or my PC hardware. Numerous other people appear to have the same issue.
