S3220DGF, screen cracked, #11
After doing some research, it looks like I'm not the only one that is having issues with their S3220DGF spontaneously cracking with no physical damage. So I am posting this because someone from Dell posted in another cracked S3220DGF thread
"If there was a "systemic" defect of the S3220DGF panel, we would be seeing many more complaints out here. We have not received any messaging from the Displays Team that there is a systemic fault with the panel."
Well, here is another one with a vertical crack. This has to be some bad batch of displays. I really think this is some manufacturing issue, maybe too much tension on the liquid crystal panel? This monitor has literally been sitting in my office and hasn't been moved since I purchased it a few years ago. There was no physical damage, and the screen surface (polarizer?) is flawless. The liquid crystal panel is the part that has a crack in it. It would be really nice if Dell could take ownership of this VERY apparent problem.
