S3222DGM, not recognising HDMI input

I have a fantastic new S3222DGM gaming monitor. I plugged it in to my PC using the HDMI cable provided using exactly the same output from the graphics card that my previous monitor used (which worked fine every time). The issue I have is that the S3222DGM usually recognised the input from the PC, but not always. The only remedy I can use at the moment is disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable at the S3222DGM which resolves the problem. I wonder if someone could suggest a better resolution as I don't want to keep unplugging the HDMI?

Update= Resolved. I tested the monitor with a different laptop and it worked fine using a different cable, so connected that cable to the graphics card and that seems to have resolved the issue.

Click the blue DELL-Cares username. Their profile page will appear. On the right click, "Send this user a private message". They will need the private monitor Service Tag and 20 digit serial number. Check the rear label.

* There is no such model, S32222. Which monitor model do you have? We have the S3222HN, S3222HS, and S3222DGM
* What PC model?
* What video card/GPU is installed in the PC?
* List all of the video out ports on the video card/GPU
* What operating system?

Hi Chris,

It is the S3222DGM.

I have built the PC incorporating a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor on a MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max Motherboard.

The GPU is a AMD RX590 with a HDMI (4k60) output.

We are using Windows 10.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks,

Tim

* Test the other S3222DGM HDMI 2.0 in port
* Test both of the S3222DGM HDMI 2.0 in ports at all Hz shown. The S3222DGM HDMI are capable of 60Hz/120Hz/144Hz
* Disconnect the HDMI to HDMI cable
* Test all of the RX 590 DP out ports to the S3222DGM DP in port at all Hz shown. The S3222DGM DP is capable of 60Hz/120Hz/144Hz/165Hz

To test the different Hz = Open the Windows Display Settings- Advanced display settings- Display adapter properties- Monitor- Screen refresh rate

Hi Chris,

I tried changing the Hz settings and the HDMI ports are fine but the issue persists.  The issue occurs after the PC has gone into sleep mode.  When the computer wakes, there is a signal to the monitor for a second, then the monitor loses the signal.  When I unplug the HDMI cable and then plug it back in again, the signal is recognised instantly and the monitor works great.  I just don't like repeating this process.  Any other ideas what this could be?

Many thanks for your continued assistance.  Much appreciated.

Best regards,

Tim

Hi there,

Any update or ideas on this or would you recommend requesting a replacement under the warranty?

Thanks,

Tim
