S3225QS blackouts

Question

I recently purchased a S3225QS 4k monitor, to use with my T7920 with GTX1080. I've been getting blackouts while using this monitor, something I wasn't getting when I had dual 1080 monitors. After many frustrating sessions, I believe I resolved the issue.

It seems the blackouts occur if I power on the T7920 at the same time as the S3225QS. What I have found is, if I wait for the S3225QS to complete its powerup cycle and go into Power Save mode, before turning on the T7920, the monitor works perfectly.

The Dell OEM GTX 1080 has the following video out ports = DVI-I DL/HDMI 2.0/DP 1.2/DP 1.2/DP 1.2
The S3225QS has the following video in ports = HDMI 1/HDMI 2/DP

Can you test the S3225QS DP in port on all three GTX 1080 DP 1.2 out ports to see if the blackout issue happens?

@DELL-ChrisM2​ are you suggesting plugging into the 2nd DP and starting the computer before the monitor finishes its power up cycle? I am currently plugged into the top DP port.

Yes, from a powered OFF state for both the PC and the monitor, check the remaining DP ports. Then test the S3225QS HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 ports from the single GTX 1080 HDMI port. Power on as you described above in 1st post.

Also, can you replicate the issue if connecting the monitor to a different computer?
