Samsung SyncMaster 173T Problems

My brand new Samsung flat pannel will not work, and I just received this entire home PC system yesterday. Doesn't speak well for Dell, I've had problems dealing with tech support in the past with an older Dell that I own, and frankly I'm at my wit's end with this.
I will be taking this new system off to college with me this fall and this is the last thing I need to worry about before I move. I've tried the suggested fixes, tired both the blue and white cables at one time, but to no avail. Now I have an $1800 paper weight on my hands untill I can resolve the NEW monitor problem.

Well, first of all, if it is a SAMSUNG monitor (Regardless of you buying it through Dell) your quality complaint is with SAMSUNG.  I can't see how you can hold the failed monitor against Dell.  They can't open the box & test it before it ships.

Have you tried the no signal self-test? Generally if you leave the monitor disconnected, except to its power supply, and turn it on, a test pattern and message will appear. If the monitor does not work, return the monitor ASAP. If it does work then, the PC may have a video problem.
