Samsung SyncMaster 213T font size adjustments

I was looking at the above monitor in the store today and the fonts are tiny due to the high native resolution of 1600 X 1200.  I want to retain the resolution but enlarge the fonts and I tried to do that by going into "View" in Explorer and then "Text Size" and then "largest".  Nothing happened to the text size.  I need to know if that is normal or not. Can text size be adjusted in LCD monitors thru Explorer or does it stay tiny unless you decrease the resolution which I have been advised not to do.  Thank you for your help.

Try going into Control Panel, then go to Display, then to Settings then under the General tab click on Advanced and under the General tab change your DPI to Large.
