Screen resolution stuck at 640 by 480

After reinstalling Windows XP Home edition it will not let me change the screen resolution, which is stuck at 640 by 480 pixels.

 

Any help is appreciated! Let me know if you need more information.

You probably need to install some hardware drivers, specifically, the mainboard and/or video adapter.
Is this a Dell system? If so what model?
Do you know what video adapter you have?

After browsing the forum for a while I found my answers, just needed to download the right driver like you sugested.
