Screen Resolution won't change on a new installation

Thank you all for offering your assistance in this forum!

I have an old Dimension 3000.  I did a complete reinstallation today thanks to a tech forum. ;)  However, now the screen resolution is wrong.  I need to change it but it won't allow me to.

When I go to my CP, Display Setting, Monitor - it only allows me to see the "Default Monitor" and not Properties.
I got out my software for my monitor - ViewSonic G70f - installed and nothing....  It still only shows "Default Monitor"

Plus I can't get online because I need to install my drivers fro my LinkSys - but with the resolution as is I can't install because I can't see all the correct buttons to click. :(

So, if I need to download anything can I save it to disk on my laptop (running Vista) and then insert it into my Dimension and run it?

Thank you for your time and expertise!
Blessings,
Kelly

You have to install the graphics driver, and probably other drivers for your system. Make sure you choose the correct ones. You can use Everest to help identify hardware. Download to laptop, copy to disk or USB drive.
