screen warranty and replacement??

i would just like to know something before i purchase a dell system. i am looking at getting the dell dimension 9200 with a 24" screen!!

my question is that if something goes wrong with the screen how do i contact dell to replace it?? what support would i click on and will they happily replace it from me??

also if my system stuffs up will it be replaced by dell?? (again: what would i click on to replace it and/or would they replace it??)

information from anyone who knows were the support is would be much appreciated and how officient it is!! also info on people who have experienced similar things of what i have jst mentioned would be good (will they replace stuffed up equipment and were is the support to request a replacement would be wonderful!!)

its just that my old screen stuffed (its a LCD) up and i just took it back to the shop and it was replaced without any hassels. and because i live so far away from any dell store i just wanted to know that if my screen or pc stuffs up i can easily get it replaced.

thankyou, Fraser

Good questions, get all the warranty info in writing.

Get at least a three year "Advanced Exchange Warranty" on the monitor, that should come with it, standard anyway. I opted for the 5 year advanced exchange warranty on a LCD 2407 monitor. If it fails, call Dell, explain the defect or problem and they will ship you a replacement and you send the defective one back in that box. It doesn’t cover spills and accidents, but I think you can get what is called "complete coverage" on the entire system. Have to ask a Dell rep or ChrisM.

Warranty info is in the product guide for 2407's. Dell does honor their warranties better then most. I have experience with that, they are fantastic. In U.S. Dell overnighted new monitors, prepaid and scheduled shipping back to them. Just get it all in writing and if it doesn’t arrive with the system call Dell and they should get it out quick “:)

Questions, call tech support or customer service and write about it here. Someone will guide you to support if you have trouble.

Happy Holidays to All :) :) :)

Ditto on the great service!

I just took delivery of a 2407 yesterday, but alas, it was DOA. Powered up, but no display... nada, not even a self-test (no external inputs) :smileysad:

Problems are not totally unexpected though, given the possibility of less-than-tender handling by the delivery crew. But to get back to the point, Dell Support was great... a new monitor is already on the way!!! Can't get much better'n that!
