SE198WFP, issues

is there a way to disable the floating test message when the monitor is in sleep? I understand that the screen should be black when in sleep. mine displays the test screen. it is annoying. win 7 pro, 32bit, se198 monitor, hp elite 8000 cmt desktop.

Tonight I think my SE198WFP died. During use most apps would not open. I restarted several time to no avail. F11 recovery did not work. I used my ISO cd to do a fresh OS install. Still did not work. Finally some apps opened sometimes. Suddenly the screen became very dim and never loaded the OS. Before I toss it it came to me to switch inputs back and forth between digital and analog. I am using analog as the desktop does not provide digital. The SE198WFP does. Is it possible the SE198WFP switched inputs itself? If yes, how to switch back? The SE198WFP always indicated "auto detect, analog".

The Self-Test Feature Check (STFC) (page 28) should only appear if the SE198WFP was not getting a signal from the PC.

When connected to the powered on PC via the VGA to VGA cable, press the SE198WFP #1 Input signal select button (page 2) and choose 2: Analog Input. If nothing appears, then the 11 year old out of warranty monitor should be replaced.
