Solution to the DVI 'stuck in power save mode'!!
after trying the different methods proposed in the thread (and not succeeding), I tried something really stupid that did work! Here it is... maybe it is useful to other people:
1. Connect the monitor using the DVI cable (yes, you won't see anything)
2. Reboot the computer. I memorized the key strokes to do it (in my case )
3. Enjoy!
When the computer started rebooting, the monitor woke up.
Hope it helps

I had been having a totally different problem with my 1800FP. When running any type of 3D program(mainly games) the monitor will go black every 2-10 seconds. The monitor is not turning off as the power led remains green. I had been following the thread about the power save mode and tried the dvi recover utility just in case it might help this issue but it did not. Then yesterday I went to use my sysetm and got the dreaded DVI power save mode message. I tried turning the monitor off and on several times as well as pressing the input selection button severl times to try to get it to respond with no luck. I tried what you suggested (restarting windows using the keyboard commands) and when it restarted the monitor woke up without a problem. Not sure exactly what this means but it worked for me.
