ST2220L, compatible with AY511 Soundbar?

I've been trying to get a straight answer from Dell's sales reps concerning the compatibility of the subject items.  My question is this:  Is the soundbar fully compatible with this monitor. That is, will the sound-bar plug in directly or indirectly into the 12v power outlet on the monitor or will I have to use another clunky wall outlet "brick" (voltage converter) to power it?  The only answer the sales rep will give me is " It depends on the monitor." !  I then, once again, give them the model number of my monitor (ST2220L) and the model number of the Sound-Bar (AY511 (Dell P/N 313-8742)) and again they tell me "it depends on the monitor!  Does anyone know the answer to this or where I can get the answer from a knowledgeable Dell Rep?  It certainly has been frustrating and has begun to make me regret my recent purchase of a new Dell XPS 8300 system.

Go here to Bottom View. The ST2220L does not have the DC power connector for Soundbar. But, according to the AY511 setup guide PDF, it does come with its own power adapter. So it should work.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris.  It may have seemed like a dumb question but all I was seeking was a definitive answer. You thankfully provided that. :emotion-1:

I have had the same issue - now Dell will not let me return this to get another monitor that is compatable with my sound bar.

COLS1,

Next time start a new thread. It would be easier for you to contact Order Support and return the Soundbar. Then, purchase the Soundbar that has its own power brick.
