Still Unsolved - WEEK 2 - ...2007WFP - Color Banding?

I'm following threads of this problem on several forums intently.  I was on the fence for a long time wanting to get an lcd, but prices and negatives for gaming uses always kept me away.  More recently (not being the pickiest of persons) I feel that a lot of issues such as response time and viewing angles have been addressed in the S-IPS panels that would prevent any feelings of regret.  Not only that but looking at the 2007 widescreen I was really excited about how good the stand and frame looked. 

 

However, with the seemingly universal problem of color banding and shadowed text, and Dell's history with the 2005 widescreen backlight, I've decided to keep waiting.  While they might be affordable monitors speaking relatively, that's still a good amount of money, and I'm not going to spend it until I know the product is worth it. 

 

Dell, address the color banding/text issues and I'll order one the same day. 

 

 

p.s. Yes I know I'd probably get sent a bad A00 revision, but knowing corrected monitors were out there would be enough for me to keep RMA'ing until I got one.
