Trouble getting complete/full resolution on E228WFP...(with apple iMac G5 PPC)
Hello Dell community,
I recently purchased a Dell E228WFP monitor. I was hoping it would display my iMac G5 perfectly, but not quite. The screen is displayed only a part of the screen even when the resolution says 1680 x 1050 on the mac. (see image below)
I also notice a bit of ghosting of images, but that may be the cause of the quality or the resolution the picture is right now. (Since it is a PPC G5, the adapter is VGA, so I purchased a mini-VGA to VGA adapter in order for my Dell E228WFP to display it.)
Here's a something I made that is similar to what I see since i can't screenshot it: Hopefully it will help you understand my situation better.
Basically what you see is only about 15-17 inches wide on a 22 inch widescreen display. I really hope the display can be more complete.
1) Is it the mac's video card?
2) Is there a maximum specification my imac G5 can handle?
3) Is there a way to widen the screen via monitor controls?
4) Are there monitor specifications I should know about?
Thanks for your time! I appreciate it! :D
