U2410 buttons won't work?
Hi everyone. I have a U2410 connected to my 15" Macbook Pro running 10.7.2 Lion. Today my display decided that the buttons weren't going to work anymore. The power button is lit up blue, and I can use the display, but I can access the menus, turn it off, or wake it up from power save mode. I tried to contact technical support about this, but I cannot find a Service Tag on my U2410 anywhere. Has anyone else had this issue?

* Power off the monitor
* Disconnect all cabling from the bottom and/or sides of the monitor (especially the power cord)
* While disconnected, press and hold the monitor power button down for 3 seconds
* Reconnect the power cord to the monitor
* Power on the monitor. If the image appears for "there is no signal", good
* Now press the monitor OSD Menu button. Does the menu now appear? If not, the monitor should be exchanged. Open the top announcement, "24" and smaller monitors do not get a Dell service tag number"

I will be away from my office until Feb 15. Once I get back I'll let you know what I find. Thanks for the advice.

Ok. I followed the posted instructions and when I turned the display on, it showed the Dell logo and pushing the menu button opened the list of inputs. The display is still having the problem mentioned in the original post though.
My best guess is that it is a firmware problem, because when I unplug the display and plug it back in, sometimes it will work and other times it will be stuck on the Dell logo, and sometimes the Dell logo flickers.

Only the 27" and 30" monitors have a Service Tag number. All other monitors would use the Dell order number found on the original Dell invoice. If you only have a Dell order number for your monitor, you should contact Order Support for your country. If you purchased the monitor bundled with a Dell PC, contact Technical Support for your country and use the Service Tag number from the bundled Dell PC. They will need the following data -
Email Address:
Name:
Shipping Address:
Phone Number:
Monitor Order number:
PC Service Tag number if bundled:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number:
Reason:
