U2410, flickering on wake from sleep

We have a user with a Dell U2410f monitor. When she starts her computer in the morning and the monitor comes out of sleep mode, for several minutes the screen flashes and the monitor does not respond to any input including pressing the power button. Eventually, she is able to power cycle the monitor and it works as normal, and stays that way for the rest of the day. What we have tried:

1. The monitor reset procedure recommended by Dell

2. Swapping power cables and video cables

3. Undocking the laptop when the issue is occurring, this does not have any effect on the flickering

4. Reinstalling monitor, video, and dock firmware/drivers and installing all available Windows updates

5. Plugging the monitor into a different power outlet

Any help would be much appreciated. The monitor came from a 3rd party reseller, so I'm assuming any warranty is out of the question.

Have the user try this =

* Turn the PC off
* Turn the U2410 off
* Disconnect every cable (including the power cable) from the U2410
* Press the U2410 power button in for 8 seconds (clears any residual power in the circuits)
* Reconnect the power cable and one video cable to the U2410
* Turn the PC on, then the U2410. If the issue still happens, the U2410 is faulty

Correct, no warranty. The non-private 20 digit serial number (CZ-0F525M-73608-144-07CL) shows us that this U2410 was built on April 4, 2011.

"wake from sleep"
Do you mean that the PC operating system is in sleep mode and you are waking the PC which in turn wakes the U2410?

If the PC is powered off, then you turn the PC on, do you see the flicker?

Consider having the user connect to one of the other U2410 video in ports (DP/HDMI/DVI1/DVI2/VGA) and see if the issue remains.

@DELL-Chris M

Thank you for the reply. This only happens when the user powers on her computer first thing in the morning (from a fully shutdown state, not sleep). I meant that the monitor itself is in sleep mode (from having no input from the computer). After the monitor finally quits flickering, it stays that way for the rest of the day.

@DELL-Chris MWe've already tried different video cables and ports (DP and VGA) and it does not change anything.

@DELL-Chris MThe user sent over a video of what's happening. When she starts up her computer, the monitor's power LED blinks continuously and there is no output. This went on for about 5 minutes before she was able to successfully power cycle the monitor and get it to show output. I asked her to fully turn off her monitor last night, so it's not just an issue when the monitor comes out of sleep.

@DELL-Chris MShe tried those exact steps this morning, no change. It's looking like a defective monitor.

Thank you so much for your help on this, I appreciate the support despite this being a reseller's monitor.
