U2410 not working properly on 4 different systems
Hi.
Just got my Dell U2410 and hooked it up to my system.
First when i started i got no picture at all, powerbutton was lit and the lowest blue on the meny buttons also.
But nothing happend when i pushed them,i tryed to restart but same result, powerbutton doesnt work it lights up but nothing happens when i push it.
Well all of a sudden i got picture and the button worked, but when i tried to access the meny i got lots of horisontal lines in different colour all over the meny and all over the screen too after a while.
And the the monitor locked up,all 4 menu buttons where lit and just a black screen.
Had to restart and still no picture until im on the loginscreen in windows, then in there the same graphic glitches all over the screen and when try to access the meny the glitches are there all over again.
This is occuring on all my 3 systems and on my mothers pc also.
So its just not a random occurence.

You need to contact Dell Support. Have your order number handy since monitors don't have service tags.

I live in Sweden and bought it from http://www.dustinhome.se/ a highly recommended webshop here in Sweden.
I have contacted them to see what they say in this matter as the are the reseller.
Should i contact http://www1.euro.dell.com and the Swedish customer service or should i ait to hear from dustinhome.se?
Took a few pictures of how it looks, when this happens all of the 5 blue menu buttons lights up and u cant do anything, power on/off doesnt work also.

You will have to contact http://www.dustinhome.se/ and get the the original Dell monitor order number, then, contact Dell customer service about getting the replacement. If they cannot give you a Dell order number, we cannot verify that they bought the monitor warranty.

During the selftest, can you access the monitor menu?

Since I am in the Americas, I cannot look up that number. Dell EURO support could.
If they can provide a Dell order number, we can then check to see if they purchased a warranty or bought them without warranty.
I have not seen this issue. During the selftest, can you access the monitor menu?
Have you tested both DVIs, VGA, and Display Port to see if the issue is on all of them?

Yes i can access the meny when i first start it up but after a few min the corruption starts even there.
I have tested both DVi's,VGA and the Display Port on 4 separate systems and the same thing happens there also.
Even tested it on my mothers PC with the same result on that also.
And if i try to take a printscreen then u cant see the error,it is as soon as u pull up the meny it starts to happen, as it is in that layer that displays the menu.
and regarding to DEll support here in Sweden its been down all day so far so no luck there and no answers from dustionhome.se either.
This is just my bad luck it seems.

Yes i can but as soon as i pull it up the same glitches occur after about 15-20 sec's and then the menu hangs and the buttons doesn't function at all.
They still glows blue but u can't do anything with them, nor can you turn the monitor off or on with the on/off button.

Hi,
i have similar the same problem. The monitor does not respond and hangs up as long as there is no signal on the chosen input. I normally use the monitor on DVI-1. I did the mistake and chose composite input just for testing. I did not get the monitor to run anymore. I had to plug a source onto the composite input. Only then the monitor startet properly. But I had to plug the power cable 2-3 times off and on.
When I use the monitor on DVI-1, the monitor hangs up as long as windows logon screen is not started - there is no chance to get the monitor running until logon screen. When logon screen is shown there is the chance at about 50 %, that the monitor starts up the first time. If it does not, i have to unpower (not via the power-button - does not work, because monitor hangs) by plugging off the power cable in plug it into again.
It seems that Dell has some firmware issues if there is no proper signal. I´m lucky that i bought the monitor with a 5 year warranty. The only problem is that the company where I orderd mine did not send me the bill yet.
Regards,
Chris
