U2412M, blurry/soft text

I just installed a refurbished U2412M. It's a 2016 model. I have the same issue - slightly blurry text (like every word has a slight ink smudge). Any other ideas on this?

    What is the non-private 20 digit serial number on that U2412M?

    Based on the online U2412M User's Guide, you can test the following video in ports to see if the text clears up = DP/DVI/VGA
