U2412M, flashing padlock
This annoying padlock is driving me crazy in the middle of the screen. I can't remove it. Can somebody help?

If under warranty, get it exchanged via a "like for like" replacement.
* Go back to the top of this Monitor Forum
* Open, "My Dell 24" and smaller monitor does not have a Service Tag number?"

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I tried to change resolution, but unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.

You did not give much information such as what kind of monitor, operating system, etc. Perhaps this will article will give you some information that may help.

Press and hold the button above the Power button for 10 seconds to unlock it.

Thanks for the answer Chris. I have a warranty, I prepared the monitor to send back to the vendor. I bought this monitor in my country from one of the biggest PC hardware store. Also made a video with the symptoms. My other 2 years old U2412M works normally. I tried all the solutions I've read in this subject. Cable change, different button combinations, resolution change etc. with no luck. I've read some comments which are saying that the problem is on the panel itself, but I won't disassemble a monitor which is brand new and has 36 months warranty.

I've succesfully exchanged my monitor for a new one. Dell is a great company, they shipped a new one, and the defected part was transported back by GLS. Now is working everything fine.
