U2413, DUCCS fails connection?
I have a Dell U2413 monitor (S/N CN-0XTXXK-72872-37N-A3JL, REV A-00, Manufactured Jul 2013) which I purchased from Dell last October. I just purchased the x-rite Display Pro device (also from Dell) and am trying to calibrate my monitor. When I connect it recognizes it on the first page see (see clip 1 in attached file) so I select it and then click next I get an error saying 'please connect the display to your computer via USB cable' (see clip 2 in attached file). When I ensure that my USB upstream cable is connected and and click retry I get the error shown in clip 3 (see attached file).
I saw another post that spoke about the connection log (%home%\AppData\Roaming\Dell\Dell UltraSharp Calibration Solution\Connection.log) so I checked that and get the following:
Successfully opened the display
Successfully sent the VCP command.
Could not match display serial number 'XTXXK37NA3JL'.
I am running version 1.57 of the Calibration Solution on Windows7 SP1 x64 Home Premium and have ensured the u2413 driver is up to date.
Any assistance appreciated. I have intentionally left out the information on the monitor request template having to do with the video card etc. as it appears the issue is with the serial number on the firmware in the monitor. If that turns out not to be the case I will happily complete the rest of the information.

As log shows it is failing to retieve one serial number.
For reasons not explained yet by Dell or Xrite guys, this kind of calibration solutions checks Serian no. twice. One from DDC/CI and one from USB, if one does not match, pop up error shows.
Logs should show more info, like the actual comand sent. Try to attach that file to the Dell lab team but for te reasons explained above:
-You cannot calibrate under a virtual machine (are you doing that?)
-Try to avoid USB hubs. Try to plug directly to USBs in the rear of yout computer, near ethernet connector.
Try to inspect if your motehrboard o r your computer (Apple, laptops...) use a hub for USB connectors (that means there are less actual USBs ports than connectors)

Yumichan,
Thanks for the reply! I am not trying to calibrate virtually but I was plugging the calibrator into the usb ports on the monitor and the front of the computer, perhaps that is the issue. The USB upstream is direct from one of the motherboard USB's to the monitor however so that should be fine. I will look at the other logs aside from the connection.log and see if there is any more detailed info and post back. Is there another option to post to the Dell team besides using this post?

It is now working but I am not sure what fixed it. I moved the calibrator to a different USB port but the monitor stayed where it was and now when it poll's the bus it finds everything to be fine and I can proceed with the calibration.

Please explain this in detail, "I moved the calibrator to a different USB port". Was it originally connected to one of the monitor USB side ports or in the USB on the bottom?

It was plugged into the ports on the side near the card reader. I moved it to a usb2 port on a multi-card reader that is a case mount and plugged into my motherboard directly. It didn't work either in the side monitor or the case usb3's. I never tried the ports on the back of the monitor, I will give that a go later and update. It could be an issue with my motherboard usb driver. Its an Asrock 970 Extreme 4 with the most updated drivers (not on that box or I would check for driver version. I will get that info if it doesn't work on the back of the monitor either.
