U2413, MacBook Pro Retina 15" issues, Resolved
I purchased the Dell U2413 monitor for use with a MacBook Pro Retina Display. Even with a lower resolution than the retina MacBook, edit with a 24" monitor is more comfortable. However I am experiencing a SERIOUS problem. MacBook When I turn the monitor (mDP cable that came with the monitor), the image is a real bad, serrated. has not even read as a text or appreciate a photo. already made its countless modifications and resolution tests, but NOTHING is satisfactory. I connected the monitor to a Windows PC (via DVI) and it turned out perfect, comfortable, and it is not yet used it coz any color calibrator. What should I do to get a good image on the MacBook Pro Retina? Help! E sorry for my bad English!

In found the solution ! Force RGB signal to the monitor.

I had the same problem with my Mac mini (M1 on Big Sur). I bought a DVI-to-HDMI adapter. And I am very happy to report that this is working now. HDMI from Mac to DVI-D on Dell U2413.
PS: I registered here only to leave this reply. I tried the patch. But it didn't work. Perhaps things are a bit different on On Big Sur and with the new Hardware (M1).

I have the same problem, macbook pro 10.8.5.
I tried to force rgb but now I can´t see anything at the dell monitor. The mb recognize the monitor but don´t tranfer signal.
Any idea?

As a follow-up: I just read here:

that DVI-D which the U2413 uses permits only RGB. Maybe that's why it works.

This fixed it for me (getting a USB-C --> DVI cable)! Strong upvote, because it saved a lot of time figuring out how to apply the RGB patch. Being such an old school cable, my understanding is it serves to force the RGB signal (because it can't do anything else). Joined the community just to upvote this as I've been sad to not use my monitor for ages but don't have the energy or technical know-how to do the patch!
