U2414H DP Daisy Chain Issues
I have exactly same problem. Have not found solution yet. There are no firmwares for monitors or BIOS for VGA. No much options there.
I have found that there is that nice option changing 1.2 DP when monitors are offline. So this is the key player here.
Got my screen working in MST extended desktop mode, but it does not work together with HDMI :( I am using HDMI receiver for audio. As I am turning on my receiver both display port monitors turns off. I can enable primary DP monitor by disabling DP 1.2 with HDMI enabled, but it dies not fit me.

I have update here.
After testing this setup on Windows i realized that 2 x DP monitors works fine together with 1 HDMI TV.
So i decided to upgrade my Linux drivers from default 319 in Ubuntu to 331. After that everything seems to work great - i have bot DP screens in extended desktop mode + 3rd screen TV on HDMI.
Problem is: I don't have video signal on my DP screens while HDMI cable is connected - not depending is Receiver turned on or off - no signal until OS has booted. Also even if DP monitor is connected as 1.2 DP disabled - there is no video signal with HDMI connected. Disconnecting cable solves situation, but this is not solution. Not sure is it graphics card or monitors not receiving signal properly.

All problems are back. Today tried to install anothe OS on desktop - realised that again i dont see POST and BIOS screen on my DP screens which yesterday worked fine. So today i tried to reconect all the cables, unplug power cables etc etc - no POST/BIOS screen on DP monitors not depending are those set to 1.2 DP enabled or disabled. Worth mentioning, that on HDMI-DVI screens everything is working perfectly!
I have spent yesterday whole day configuring DP MST for 2 monitors - i think it is imposible right now - DP just doesn't work! I am giving up. Those DELL monitors are just BAD! DP is not working. Switching to DVI-HDMI cables :(

Hey,
Exactly the same situation here.
Windows 8
Asus Rampage II Extreme
ASUS GTX 770 with latest drivers.
Both screen goes in power saving mode when i start my PC after POST.
I need to reboot with the second screen unplugged.
When i wake the computer up, the secondary screen goes in power saving, and i have to select the source on the screen manually.
It seems that setting the second screen as the main display solved this part of the problem.

The way i have it working now is i have both the monitors DP 1.2 enabled. Monitor 2 to MSFT monitor 1. But before i had to disconnect monitor one from the power outlet (this will be one time thing) and keep both monitors turned off. Plug monitor 1 back in and start the computer but dont turn on the monitors. Once windows boots turn on both the monitors and see if it worked.
Next time you have to reboot into windows keep the monitors turned off and turn them on after OS boots. Atleast i have it working this way after no helpful solution from Dell and going through the pain of this setup.
Hope this help!
