U2414H, self test and factory menu when powered
Monitor bought 3 months ago.
Sometimes when I power on the monitor (even before the computer is switched on) it displays a color cycle: full screen black, white, red, green and blue again and again.
If i enter on-screen menu, i see some factory codes in red. If i perform a "reset all settings" operation, factory codes dissappear and i can configure everything again.
Sometimes the menu entered is a ugly internal factory menu with strange options, that I inmediately leave.
I'm connected through the DP cable with came along in the monitor box.
I always left the monitor unplugged from power, and plug it again before usage.

It sounds like you are enter the Dell Factory Service Menu which should not be appearing on its own!? Which you should not be in. The color cycle is because you enabled "BurnIn" in the Dell Factory Service Menu. When unplugged and then plugged in and turned should yield a small Dell image, but not the Factory Service Menu. The only Menu you should be using is the OSD (On Screen Display).

I see this OSD menu, but with red factory codes on top. I must do a reset settings operation to make this codes dissappear. Only sometimes i'm prompted to the other strange factory menu.
How can i disable "burnin" and how can i prevent factory menus and codes to appear?

The red codes should not be appearing in the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). Someone made changes in the Factory Service Menu which is not covered under the Dell warranty. Next time the Factory Service Menu appears, look for BurnIn, disable it. I would not make any other changes in there. You could break the monitor.

Does that mean that my monitor has lost it's warranty?

Thank you Chris
This monitor was bought as brand new, and for personal use. No one but me operates it at my home.
So there are two possibilities:
1. I accidentally activated the factory service menu with some key combination i don't know.
But first time i saw it, i got out without changing anything.
In that case, is there a way to force the factory service menu to appear, to disable BurnIn? Please send me a private message if it's not public info.
I only saw it a couple of times, can't be plugging it again and again hoping to get the factory service menu instead of the colour pattern test.
2. The factory service menu is activated with some specific voltage.
I'm suspicious because even if i perform a "restore all settings" and configure again the monitor, sometimes i plug it in and it falls back to tests.
3. Someone activated the factory service menu.
Maybe at the factory they ran tests on the new unit and packed if forgetting to set it up again to customer mode.
Or maybe this unit was not brand new, but sold as so.
I need a solution
