U2415 and displayport
I've just spent 3hrs trying to get my new u2415 to work via displayport. It's a version A01, Dec 2014.
it works via HDMI but will not work using mini displayport (using cable it came with). My video card is fine, display ports work with my old BENQ.
I've tripled checked every connection combination, tried every power cycle.
It just constantly says going to sleep mode.
I'm running win7, and 7850
I've read a ton of articles about this related to the u2414h, but most are posts are from last year. Not really any posts about u2415

Is this your setup?
Computer AMD Radeon HD7850 DP out --> Dell DP to mDP cable --> U2415 mDP in
Then you entered the monitor OSD (On Screen Display) -Input Source (page 28) and checked Mini DisplayPort?
In the OSD -Display, did you change the DisplayPort 1.2 to see if that would fix this issue?

current setup...
7850 mDP out --> Dell mDP to DP cable --> U2415 DP in
i tried turning on and off the dp1.2 option in the OSD. neither worked. it just always says going to power saving mode.

* Test a retail mDP to DP cable
* Test on a different computer (if available)
* Turn the monitor off
* Disconnect all cables from the monitor including the power cable
* Press the monitor power button in for 10 seconds
* Reconnect the monitor cables and re-test
If still no go, your only option is to get it exchanged per the purchased warranty

After reading all the other threads with similar problems, i decided to return the monitor before 30days.
It' seems that these displayport power save and the flickering problems have been around for many years and are widespread across many monitors. It's a real shame Dell has done nothing about it.
I'm definitely never buying another Dell monitor.

Plug the u2415 audio output into the speaker and the normal dp ports will work. Still very confusing though. oh, I also enabled the dp 1.2 setting in the osd menu ,display menu. I hope this helps someone.
