U2415 colour Preset Mode resets when changing users Windows 7

Hello!

First post here. I'm just completing a new set-up for my parents.

The problem I have is this: When changing users on Windows 7, the U2415 monitor resets its colour Preset Mode to a rather red one, that doesn't seem to be any of the listed colour Preset Modes.

If I use the controls on the monitor to bring up the Preset Modes list, and move the cursor up from Multimedia (my preferred Preset) to Standard, the monitor responds immediately by switching to Standard Preset. Then I have to move the cursor back down to Multimedia, press the green Tick button, and exit.

This action has to be performed every time someone logs on, or switches user.

Switching user seems to give a momentary lack of video signal, which may be triggering this behaviour in the monitor.

Connection is Monitor / Mini DP >---(cable)---< DP / Computer's inbuilt graphics.

Computer is an Optiplex 790 SFF.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Thank you in advance!

No idea why that would happen, but in the absence of a fix you may be able to use Dell Display Manager to eliminate accessing the OSD menu. Create a standard Windows shortcut to DDM with the following parameters - "ddm.exe /SetNamedPreset Standard /Wait 5000 /SetNamedPreset Multimedia /Exit" - and add it to your startup list.

This will do the following:

1. Start DDM

2. Switch the Preset mode to Standard

3. Wait 5000 milliseconds

4. Switch the Preset mode to Multimedia

5. Close DDM

You may not need to wait as long as 5000 ms or at all, but by including step 3 you should be able to observe the first preset mode change.
