U2415, mDP to DP cable, not recognized by computer
I have also been having an issue with the MDP/DP cable for a new U2415 which I just set up over the weekend. The computer doesn't recognize that the DP cable is connected. I was thinking of replacing the Mdp with a Dp but was hoping to use what was provided to me. Please let me know what is up. thanks.

What specific computer?
What operating system?
What specific video card?
What video out ports on the video card?
List every cable and port used between the monitor and the computer. Example =
Computer video card mDP out port --> Dell mDP to DP cable --> Monitor DP in port

don't bother with mdp. I changed the cable provided from Dell with an HDMI-HDMI cable and solved the issue.

The problem I had was that the monitor, even though it is sold with an miniDP to DP connector, defaults to the DP input. You just have to change the input on the monitor to mini DisplayPort and you're good to go.
