U2415 not recognized by Dell Display Manager

U2415 is not being recognized by the Dell Display Manager
CN-OPVJVW-74261-4CI-24YL
Rev A01
Used on a Lenovo W540 with NVIDIA Quadro K1100M 1GB graphics card and Intel on board - auto switching between them but on MAX when plugged in should be using the K1100 only. When using the port replicator it uses the K1100 only.
Win 7 Pro (64)
NVIDIA Quadro K1100M 1GB
On the W540 there is a mini-display port but it is being used with a docking station that has DVI, DP, HDMI, VGA,
Using the Mini display to Display Port that came with monitor. Also tried HDMI and DP to DP.
Mini DP to DP supplied with monitor
1920x1200 max resolution
The first time I tried to load the Dell display manager to the system it stoped and indicated there wasn't a supported display. I rebooted the machine, tried again, received a message that there was a newer version available. I got the newer version and it loaded. It won't open and gives me the message that there is no supported monitor attached; if there is one to update the drivers for the monitor and the graphics card. I had the latest drivers as I had done that prior to attaching the new monitor. I had the newest drives for the K1100 graphics card, the Intel on-board graphics and the Dell U2415. My computer is reporting the Dell U2415 (minidisplay port) as the monitor being used. Device manager shows the latest drivers available on the Dell support page. Dell software should recognize it's own Dell monitor if Windows does and if the K1100 does. What is wrong here?
Monitor was purchased direct from Dell

* The U2415 should be connected directly to the Lenovo W540
Lenovo W540 mDP out --> Dell U2415 mDP to DP cable --> U2415 DP in
* The U2415 USB 3.0 Upstream must be connected directly to the Lenovo W540
* Re-test the DDM once setup this way

Open the U2415 User's Guide. Notice on page 26, it states that when using mDP to DP, the U2415 is connected directly to the computer. That is what we test. We do not test using docks.

The monitor *is* recognized, but it cannot be controlled - which is a very different issue. The culprit is going to be the docking station. To verify, connect the U2415 *directly* to the W540, and I think you'll find DDM works properly...
